When I Don't Have the Words
When you don’t know what to say, Jesus still knows what is in your heart.
There are moments when the heart carries more than words can hold.
You may know what you are feeling but not know how to explain it. You may want to pray, but the words simply will not come.
Jesus is not waiting for you to find the perfect words.
He already knows the worry, the hurt, the questions, and the things you have not been able to say out loud.
You can simply come.
As you begin this journey, rest in the truth that even when you don't have the words, Jesus understands your heart.
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us.”
You do not need perfect words for Jesus to understand you. He hears the prayers your heart cannot yet say.
When I Don't Have The Words
Take a few quiet moments to listen before continuing through today's journey.
There are times when prayer feels easy and the words come naturally. Then there are seasons when all you can manage is a sigh, a tear, or the name of Jesus.
Those moments are prayers too.
Think about what you are carrying today. Is there something you have struggled to put into words? Something you have been afraid to say, or simply don't know how to explain?
You don't have to organize it before bringing it to Jesus.
Sit with Him for a moment. Let your heart be still. Trust that the Holy Spirit is helping you even here.
What would change if you believed that Jesus already understands everything your heart is trying to say?
Jesus,
I come to You just as I am.
You know what is on my heart even when I cannot find the words to say it. You know every worry, every question, every hurt, and every need.
Thank You that I don't have to explain everything perfectly for You to understand me.
Holy Spirit, help me in my weakness and carry the prayers I cannot express.
Help me rest in Your presence and trust that You hear my heart.
Amen.
